This is the liquid feeder where you supply a softdrink bottle to complete the feeder.
This kit it needs a 1 to 1.5 litre softdrink plastic bottle to complete the feeder.
The feeder base, hanger with cord and orange float (to see water level from a distance) are included in the kit.
This feeder has room for tui and bellbird to perch while also being used by small birds like waxeyes.
The design has drinking slots to stop bees, wasps and other insects from getting to the sugar water while letting the birds drink all they want. This also reduces the affect of rain on diluting or overflowing the feeder tray.
You fill the bottle with sweet water and the float - which is optional - and then screw it into the feeder and hang in a tree, bush, nail or hook in your garden, aviary or bird cage.

Sweet Water Recipe: A mix for sugar water is a half a cup (125g) of sugar and 4 cups (1 litre) of water. You can add more or less and test with your birds, a stronger mixture can attract bees and wasps when they are active.
Cleaning: The easiest way to clean the feeder and hanger is a dilute bleach solution, rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Do not wash in very hot water (warm water is fine) as it might soften and go out of shape.
